About

Wesley United Methodist Church was founded in 1899 and was named South King Street Japanese Methodist Episcopal Church, a few years later. In 1912, it moved to a
new building on Punahou Street. Services were conducted in Japanese until 1933, when an English language service was added. The church’s name was changed to Wesley
Methodist Church in 1946. After outgrowing its location on Punahou Street, the congregation moved in 1963 to its present location in Waialae-Kahala.
